How to get video off my HV40?

Postby flair4040 » Tue Mar 02, 2010 9:06 am

I have a new HV40 that I am very happy with. I have no problem getting video off my camcorder and into PE 7. But, I was wondering, is there good free software that I can use to get the footage onto my computer without using PE7? Thanks.

For getting HD footage off the camera to your PC - a lot of us here use HDVSplit -

HDVSplit is one program I would not want to be without :)
It makes capture from the HV cameras very easy and you get a nice preview (you can select from 3 or 4 window sizes) and it splits by timecode. An excellent, free, piece of software :TU:

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

If you have any questions or problems let us know Flair. There are many folks here that use HDVSplit and really like it. I haven't seen any real problems, it is very basic and easy to use. I've never had any serious problems with it that restarting the program didn't fix.
