OK. I downloaded both clips but I no longer have PrEl installed on my PC so the following comments relate to PPro CS4.

Both clips imported fine and both played, but too fast as you mentioned.

I was able to play them at the correct speed by using the time stretch facility, slowing the rate down to somewhere around 75 - 80%. So although the fast play problem is solveable for these clips, the original cause is still to be identified. Why the clips won't play on your PC also remains unsolved.

EDIT: They both also play (too fast admittedly) in WMP. There also seems to be a pink colour cast but that should be removable.

EDIT 2: I had more time to look more closely at the video clips. I focused my attention on the AVI type 1 as I assumed that the AVI type 2 was created from the type 1 clip. Here are my observations:

1) The video doesn't appear to be smooth - what I mean is that there appear to be jumps periodically in the clip where it looks like some frames have been dropped. This leads to some very jerky motion in parts.
2) Some frames of the recorded video show 'ghosted' images.

3) One or two frames show some severe pixellation.

Can you tell us what the source of the video was please, camcorder brand and model.
You said that you captured to WMM via Firewire so the capture process is normal.
Have you place the video on the camcorder or connected the camcorder to a television?
Does the video look ok then? Video programs usually only capture what is fed to them, so if the video was captured this way it probably was recorded this way. Either that or there is a problem with the playback functionality of the camcorder, can you try capturing the tapes with a different miniDV camcorder?

Thanks John :)

Lots of effects and auto settings available, and a manual shutter it seems.
Would like to know what the video looks like connecting the camcorder to a television.
Also would be good to know what settings were used on the camcorder as well.

Maju, have you made any progress on this? Can you try capturing on a machine with a 32 bit opsys?

Hi there, sorry to bring up this old thread but this guy was having the same issue as I was. The video plays a little bit too fast once the video file is created. I wandered if the OP or anyone else has found a solution to this since?

Thanks,
Jamie
