New camcorder

Postby rossandjet » Sun Apr 13, 2014 2:41 pm

Hi all,
I am considering buying a Panasonic HC V750 but I have also seen it advertised as HCV750EB-K. Is this the same thing or is there a difference? :ha:

Also, do you consider this a good purchase for me as a relative newcomer to the camcorder world?

Thanks

Yep, same camcorder. And yes, that's a good one to start with. You should have some decent options for screw-on lenses to increase telephoto or wide-angle. According to Panasonic's website, it will even record up to 120 frames per second (240 frames interpolated) in full 1080p HD resolution, which is impressive. It's even got wi-fi built in so you can use it as a baby monitor or a home monitor with the use of a smartphone or tablet.

Okay, so now I want one.
Dell Studio XPS 8100, Intel Core i7 2.8GHz, 4GB RAM, 64-Bit Win7. Camera gear: 2x Canon 550D's, 1x Canon EOS 6D body, Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 & 17-50mm f2.8, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 & 24-70mm f/2.8L, and two 420EX flashes.

Looks like the EB-K version is for pal countries. The HC V750 looks like a OK camera. Not too many reviews out there yet. A couple of reviews on Adorama were written by the same guy. 4K is on the horizon now you know so if that takes off in the next couple of years then all of our 1080i/p cameras will be put in the drawer never to be used again. :(

Whoops, Kent beat me by a couple of minutes but he has some good points.
