New camcorder

Postby ridon127 » Tue Jan 29, 2013 5:52 pm

I needed a new camcorder and had really forgotten about it until the day of the event. I ran to best buy and bought a canon vixia HF M50. Please tell me that is a good camcorder. I didn't reasearch much. i kinda browsed the forum and had seen the canon mentioned..
Thanks

That is an excellent AVCHD camcorder, Donna.

I assume you've got software and a powerful enough computer to work with AVCHD, right?

You're going to be just fine, Donna. Particular if you are using a recent version of a video editing program like Premiere, Premiere Elements, Vegas or Movie Studio, all of which have been optimized for AVCHD performance.

(I see you're using Premiere Elements 7, which has some pretty primitive AVCHD performance. You can work with that video on that software, but you'll get much much MUCH smoother results with version 11. It's well worth the upgrade -- about $75 on Amazon.)

Experiment and give it a test drive. I think you'll be thrilled with the results!
