New... Magix Video Sound Cleaning

Magix have released a sound cleaning program specifically for video. Get rid of that annoying wind noise, that camera noise etc. May be worth downloading the trial to see how it works.

That's kind of nice, especially the wind noise reducer. The control is easy to adjust.

Wind noise is very difficult to remove so I for one will be interested in feedback from you Magix users on that particular point.

Before using wind removal:

After using wind removal you can still hear birds and camcorder motor noise:

Pretty good, except it seems like there is more white noise than before.

Also I wonder how it handles voice + wind.
I wish I were creative enough to write something witty here.

I only had time to find a clip that had wind and do a short test with just the Wind Removal filter. I'm sure I would have wiped out voice with the settings I used. There's a filter for hissing that might get rid of the white noise.

It's a free download and trial is 30 days with full set of features. If you have a clip with wind and voice you should give it a try and post results.

I downloaded the trial.

I had a small video clip with loud pots and pan sounds at the beginning. I got rid of that sound using Spectral Cleaning. It hardly took any time at all.

This looks pretty good so far.

I have been using their inexpensive Audio Cleaning Lab, and have been impressed with how good it is. I got it bundled with another Magix audio program, and considered it a toy. Then, after a full day of processing with Audition, I decided that I was not getting what I wanted. I found ACL and loaded my file into it. I was amazed at how well it did with just the factory presets. With a bit of tweaking, and then a little bit of work in Audition, and a soundtrack was saved. I have been recommending that program ever sense.

I'll look into this new one, as it might be even more useful with Audio from Video.

Thank you,

Hunt
