Behringer Podcastudio

I was looking at audio equipment at B&H as saw this setup. Does anyone have it? Does it look like a good deal? I sure would love to be able to mix audio from multiple mics. My mics use the the 1/4" hook up so I should be able to mix sound from them with the sound from the included mic, right?

Hi Karen,
Can you give us a little better idea of what you are trying to accomplish?
You can mix audio in a number of ways, including Premiere Elements and/or Audacity (which is free).
Where do you plan on connecting the other mic and how do you plan to record from it?
What do you want to mix it with?
A little more detail will help us give you a better answer :)
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

my camcorder has only one mic input. Sometimes it would be nice to have more than one mic get input into what I am filming. I didn't know if I would be able to use more mics at a time. For example during a skit or meeting more than one person may have a cordless mic on. I can only pick up one right now.

The equipment you linked to must be connected to a computer for the microphone to work and for you to capture the audio.
Then, you will have to sync it all up when editing, difficult maybe but very possible. Not sure of the quality, for $100 probably not great but might work in a pinch.

You might want to consider a Canon ZR900 for another $100, it has a mic input and then you get two shots as well as dual audio :)

I have the Behringer Xenyx 802 which I use for input mixing - a nice piece of kit, well made and fit for purpose).

The significant difference from the 502 that appears in the B+H kit is that the 802 has two XLR mic inputs compared to the 502's single input. So, if the B+H kit is what you really need (and I am not able to add any advice on your proposed usage) then I would consider the 802 as a substitute for the 502.
