Converting cassete tapes to computerI had a request to convert some cassette tapes over to the computer then burn them to a dvd. I will need to purchase a tape deck and then connect it up to the computer. Anyone have any recommendations?

Re: Converting cassete tapes to computerIf you already have a tape deck you could use this unit from ADS for copying records or cassettes via your USB port... $50 :

Re: Converting cassete tapes to computerI connect my tape deck to the input jack on my sound card with this
http://www.ramelectronics.net/audio-vid ... 5586G.html Then I record with Audacity, the adapter is $3 and I already have a tape deck. If you don't have a tape deck the one posted above is probably a good idea if you are going to do a lot of cassettes. If not, then buy a used one at a pawn shop or garage sale, and buy the adapter at your local Radio Shack or Wal Mart. 1. Re: Converting cassete tapes to computerI'm a little late here, Don, but I just had the same request from a client. My CD boombox also has a cassette deck (thought I'd NEVER need to use that! ) but it only had a headphone-out jack; no RCA outputs. I used a mini-stereo to mini-stereo cable ($3.99 at Best Buy) to connect from the headphone-out to the mic-in on my laptop. I then used Audacity to record the old tape and it worked out just fine.
