formatHi! I'm new here and have a major problem. I have a digital camera that takes some movies too - and just started with premiere elements and joined this sight. It as so much fun - I ran out and got a Sony camcorder that comes in as mpeg and premiere won't download those movies - says there is an error. What can I do to correct that? Please help if I can't use the movies in premiere - all my fun is going down the drain with a useless camcorder.
Re: formatHi and Welcome,
I suggest that you post the model number of the Sony camcorder. There are various considerations based on whether it is a DVD recording camcorder or a Hard Drive Camcorder and whether it is an HD or Standard Definition recording. I have used Sony Hard Drive SD mpeg2 video in Premiere Elements 3. However, I don't think that Premiere Elements will support all of the possible formats from Sony camcorders. Others on this forum know more in this area than I do, so it will be a good start for you to post the model number and info about the format in which you recorded so people can provide more specific assistance.
Re: formatAnd, of course, it also helps to know how you're capturing the video into your computer and which version of Premiere Elements you're using.
And, hey! Welcome! HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
