Audio pop

Postby cdeemer » Wed Mar 05, 2008 11:16 am

I get an "audio pop" when I record with Audacity. About every ten seconds or so. What causes this and how do I get rid of it? Thanks.

I have never had any problems like that caused by Audacity Charles, do you have a mic open or maybe your computer is doing something that has a sound linked to it?
When I first started recording with Audacity I would empty my trash and didn't turn off my mail alert, I have some interesting sounds on some of my music ;)
I have since learned to turn off all computer sounds and not do anything while recording :)

Hi cdeemer,

Just to add on to Chuck's post, you could also check to see what other devices you have plugged in to the same mains line as your PC.
Also, check to see if any Mobile phones are switched off, external devices such as printers, camcorders and anything you can think of!

Also, take a look at your sound card and try to disable anything you are not using such as, Line in, Mic, that sort of thing :)

Could be worth a try :)

Cheers,
Lee
