Project too large?

Project too large? Here's a question for Steve. I'm making a test DVD of my feature digital film. I do this in PE 3 with no sweat. However, when I try to do it in Architect, the project reads over 6 gigs, too large ... what's the deal? Is there a way to get it down to size for Architect? I can live with the PE 3 DVD if I must but I prefer Architect. Thanks. (the mpg is about 1.5 g)

Re: Project too large? What type of file are you loading into DVD Architect, Charles?
The files that are 6 gig are likely your master AVI files, right? Don't worry. DVD Architect will compress them. In fact, in DVDA, go to the File menu and select Optimize DVD. On the option screen, click the Fit to Disc button. This will show you how large your files will be after the program transcodes them to DVD files. I always export DVD MPEGs from Premiere Elements to use as my source files in DVD Architect. If I keep my project shorter than, say, 70-80 minutes, these files are well under 4.7 gig, and DVD Architect can transcode them to DVD files with virtually no recompression. Re: Project too large? It's a 1.5G mpeg that I import into A. It becomes over 6 and all I do is a simple menu ... it's the read warning at the bottom of the screen I refer to ... in the menu screen part. Maybe it's not a problem at this stage??? It freaked me out ha ha.

Re: Project too large?Does your menu page include an image or video that could be inflating this?
In any event, do as I said before. Go to File/Optimize DVD and click the Fit to Disc button. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro

Re: Project too large?Your advice worked great, Steve. Thanks much. Now I don't have to cut your cameo to make the project smaller ha ha. Just kidding.
