Burning with encore

Postby Clayton » Fri Oct 02, 2009 9:28 pm

I didn't know where to put this question, but here it is. I have been burning clips to dvd with encore (no editing). My only choices for burning are 4x or 2x. I have used TY -R which say 16x. Reading the help files it said the speed is limited by the burner. I have ASUS DRW-2014l1 which should burn up to 20x. Anyone know how to change this? :-8 or what the problem is?

Hi Clayton. Have you tried 'googling' to see if the burner has been tested with Encore by Adobe?

Well I stumbled across the answer myself. I had been burning the rewritable discs which had a max of 4x. When I got a delivery of TY discs, I went straight to trying them. Now I had encore open all day just creating project after project. Well I closed out encore for awhile and when I reopened it 16x was allowed on the TY. I guess as long as I had encore open it defaulted to the first discs capacity. Anyway it now works and gives me the options of 16x, 12x, 8x, 4x. :yh:

Sorry I was so late to the party, could have helped with this one :)

I wouldn't recommend burning at speeds higher than 8x but it might be worth a try.
Some players can handle the discs burned at 16x but some can't.

Glad you got it figured out Clayton :TU:

They look just fine on my DVD player, which is probably the only one they will be played on. These are unedited copies and not for anyone else.
