problem with Verbatim Lightscribe discs

Postby spressman » Sun Jul 19, 2009 10:35 pm

Well, this is a problem I haven't encountered before. I just burned a DVD project (from DVD Architecture) onto two different Verbatim DVD+R 16x Lightscribe discs. The discs play just fine in my computer but not in either of my two DVD players (I've successfully burned DVDs previously on Verbatim discs from the same spindle). Just to make sure, I burned the same DVD project onto TDK media, with no problem playing it on my DVD player.

You think it's just a bad couple of discs? If so, what would cause the media to play just fine in my computer but not in DVD players?

thanks,
steve

I meant to say DVD Architect in my post above. Otherwise, the problems are as I described.

Were your TDK discs +R or -R?

TDKs are +R, same as the Verbatim.

What was the write speed of the TDKs?

Have you been able to play the Verbatims on the player in the past?
It may only like Verbatim -R.

Write speed on the TDK's is 16x.

The weird thing is that I've been able to play other Verbatim discs (from the same spindle) just fine on my DVD players. And then suddenly, I hit two in a row that will play just fine on my computer but not in the DVD players.

Well, the next Verbatim Lightscribe disc on the spindle burned the project just fine -- playable on both my computer and DVD player. So maybe I just hit a couple of lemons there!
