Discussions on third party software for the final creation of DVD including Nero, Roxio, DVD Architect, Magix, Ulead, etc...

Hi I'm back with another question.
I have completed my project and burned a disc etc, but I now have to change the opacity on one of my images. I will do this in PE4 and then export the timeline again as an avi. My question is, can I just export this with the same filename to the same file location that I have used previously, and have it recognized in Encore.
My other option is to reimport it into Encore and do all the links again. My preferred option is the first one.
Thanks
Helen

Delete the old file and then just export to the same location with the same file name. Encore will know it is a new file but will leave all markers and everything else in place. It will have to transcode the file again but only the one that you change, any other files that have not been changed will not be transcoded again.

Helen, I had the same question not that long ago... this topic covers it with the "Replace Asset" feature. It worked perfectly for me.

I haven't ever used the Replace Asset function, maybe I should, but I haven't so far. Just delete the old file and replace it with the new one, same name, same location. Encore knows it is new and just sets it to be transcoded again, hasn't failed me yet but it doesn't mean it is the right way either
