motion menu lost my audio

Postby hpharley90 » Mon Feb 04, 2008 2:13 pm

I made a motion Main menu and a motion Scene menu.

both about 13 seconds long.
I shortened some music to 12 seconds long in PP CS3 then exported music and imported into Encore CS3.
I have both motion menus playing fine in preview.

But the main menu audio will not play on burned DVD.
Main menu and scene menu use the same music.

The scene menu plays fine.

At one time audio play fine in both but I was trying different audio clips and after maybe the fourth different audio it won't play on burned DVD.

When I put together motion menu I would render after each adjustment.

But render doesn't seem to be needed for audio because it's grayed out when I checked.

What can I do to fix audio?
Thanks
Rich
Thanks
Richard

Richard, Try removing the Asset (audio file) from the project.
Make sure there is no audio file attached to any menu and then import the file again.
Attach the audio file to the menus and make sure the duration of the menu is the correct length to fit the duration of the audio.
You may also have to remove and/or change any repeating function.

Chuck I deleted audio from both motion menus in properties panel then I cleared each one from the project panel.
I clicked File>Render>Motion Menus.
I saved then closed Encore.
Reopened Encore Played Main Menu and there was no audio but there was motion. Good.
Opened Scene Menu and there was no audio and no motion.

After many attempts and hours at trying to put together this motion menu and struggling in the beginning without ever Rendering I probably corrupted something. I spent many hours just going back and forth trying to get things to work without knowing to render.
The good members of this forum told me to render my menus after I posted my problem but by that time it might have been too late.
So what I did was I deleted the whole project.
Now that I have a much better idea of what I have to do and how to do them I anticipate a much smoother work flow.

I shortened my music 1 second shorter than video.
I tried to see what would happen if I made music longer than video.
The video and music started out great then video stopped at 12;22 (length of it) and screen went black and music kept playing.

I will post back after I redo the project. I got a good jump on it last night.
I will probably be able to finish it tonight and see how I make out.
Thanks
Richard

Sounds like a good plan Richard.

I finished my project last night with absolutely no problems. img0331
Now that I know the work flow it went so smooth.

I ended up using the HD Christmas video background for main menu and the HD Children 1 Video Background for scene menu that I got right here at muvipix.com

I had originally had another Christmas background for scene menu but I thought that the Children's background was much cooler looking even though there wasn't a Christmas theme too it.

Also from the Christmas helper package there is a video of a village with it snowing and smoke rising from the house chimneys that I used as my opening shot.
My wife really liked it just as much as I do when she saw it.
Thanks
Richard

That has already happened.

But seeing that these projects I work on are for her side of the family and that I take care of my responsibility's around the house I get away with it.

I have to reminder her periodically that their for her family though.
Thanks
Richard
