Nero update download problem

Postby Ken Jarstad » Tue Nov 13, 2007 6:43 pm

Last week I purchase Nero v8 and discovered there was a rather large update available for download. I use a download accellerator called Leechget primarily for the resume on suspend feature. The update was 178 MegaBytes!

Since I am located in the "sticks" the only broadband Internet available to me is satellite. The problems I had downloading may be a combination of flakey satellite, flakey Ahead (Nero) website or both. I had to coax the download to keep operating for four hours last Thursday night. At around midnight I couldn't get it to donwnload the final 2 MBytes and thought I could depend upon the download accellerator to resume the task the next day. It would not resume and has refused to resume since! #-o 2 silly MBytes to go!

Has anyone elso had problems with Nero updates? Is it usual for them to make you download most of the entire application again in order to update? Wher on earth can you get reasonable feedback from Nero? Their forum is an abomination!

Ken this is the Nero forum that helped me. http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/156

When I bought version 7 last year there was bugs.
When I went to this forum a moderator directed to me to a a bug free version.
I've had trouble free service since then.
And I won't get updates because it works as is and no need to ruin that.
Thanks
Richard

Thanks, Richard. Looks like a pretty good forum. I'm checking it out now.

The AfterDawn forum has a reasonably active and helpful Nero forum. AfterDawn also has file downloads! And the download of the latest Nero 8 took about twenty minutes over my satellite connection and progressed without a hitch. Much, much better than the Nero website - it's almost useless. I tried to validate a tech support coupon that came in the box with Nero 8 and the Nero site rejected it!!
