One of my favorite places for AE tuts and resources. Highly recommended.

What I like about Video CoPilot Tuts, is that he has a good pace to them & explains things. AEtuts is a favorite too & like Bob said a good resource. I have found some great scripts there.

Church Media Design has some how to videos & a few free motion backgrounds. Just watched a tut at Digital Juice for AE. It used their products, but you can apply the how to with other elements.

This is a new tut from Creative Cow on making a photo carousel. It shows 2 ways and the 2nd way being the best:

In AE, there are usually many settings to an effect. Usually I pause the tut and write it down. But, if the tut is of good resolution, I do a screen shot and save the file PSE. In AE, bring in the screen shot for reference. The screen shot method helps when you can not take notes...like a gradient setting with 5 values or how something is set up in 3D space. Just started this on the last 2 tuts, a real time saver.
