Steve's Cool Tricks & Hot Tips book

Postby Jayell » Thu Sep 16, 2010 7:10 pm

I'm working my way through your book, Steve .. and what I love about it is that as I'm following your instructions, it will invariably get me thinking about how to use it in one of my projects .. or how I could combine it with something else .. or lead me to another affect I've been meaning to learn. So rather than learning one item, I'm often learning several at a time.
Just wanted you to know someone else is enjoying the journey through your book!! :SH:

That's quite a compliment, Jayell!

The goal of the book was not only to show readers how to do some basic tricks but also to open their minds to the greater possibilities with the program. I'm thrilled to hear it's working for you!

I really am especially proud of that book. So, thank you. You really made my day!

Steve,
Just wanted you to know I completed my flying assignment from your book :-D
Backgrounds with moving, changing perspectives really make this squirley to try to keyframe.
I would recommend if someone is setting the scene by standing up, that you put a fan in front of you to create more movement for the 'cape.' Also if you can put something under your heels, so you don't end up too flat-footed. My 2 cents

Thanks all for the comments. Since I had the green screen all set up, figured I might as well video the opening and closing for my 'Christmas card.' With Tucson just coming down this week out of 100 degree days, it felt silly putting on a long sleeve shirt, long pants, and shoes and socks (what's that?!). So I did about 4 or 5 takes of each so I wouldn't have to put those silly clothes on again any time soon
