I was wondering if anyone knows, or if there is a tutorial on how, to do this type of gradient in Photoshop or Illustrator.

Re: Anyone know how to do this kind of gradient?Creating a gradient from one color to another is pretty easy, Doreen. I'm sure that's not what you're asking.
Are you trying to get the texture in addition to the color gradient? HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Anyone know how to do this kind of gradient?Yup, I'm trying to acheive the look of the texture.

Re: Anyone know how to do this kind of gradient?Hi Doreen,
I think you are looking for a Gradient Mask or some type of layer mask. Check the following tutorials, some good info there; http://www.creativemac.com/2003/07_jul/ ... 030723.htm http://www.lunacore.com/photoshop/tutor ... t003_3.htm http://graphicreporter.com/tutorials/ph ... fades.html You can create a gradient in whatever style you want, just like the gradient wipe in Premiere Elements 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Anyone know how to do this kind of gradient?Another option -- and possibly one they're using, since they have several hats -- is that they have a basic hat shape with texture and they're just overlaying gradients over it.
You can see this at work if you download one of their hats and convert it to grayscale. Then create a new layer over it and file it with a gradient and set that layer's blend mode (on the Layers panel) from Normal to Overlay. Re: Anyone know how to do this kind of gradient? Thanks Chuck and Steve. I'm thinking that maybe appying a glass effect to a mask might work. What I'm trying to do is create this kind of effect for a sailing pinnie (a stretchy sleeveless tank top that goes over a life jacket) for my son's college sailing team. My son's wearing one in this picture:
http://www.tworiversailing.com/image/pinnie.html The textured gradient would go from one color on the bottom to another color on the top. I guess this is this type of gradient is becoming very popular and it's something that can be done with dye sublimination. Re: Anyone know how to do this kind of gradient?I think I got it. I applied a vector mask to the gradient and then added the splatter filter and played with it until I got the right texture. Thanks guys for your help. Without it, I wouldn't have thought to add the mask.

Re: Anyone know how to do this kind of gradient?Jumping in here quick before I'm off to the airport. You can try making 2 layers with each color. Mask the top layer with significant feather towards the bottom and then use the dissolve blend mode. This should give you the grainy look. The more feather the more the more the graininess.
Happy Editing,
Beth

Re: Anyone know how to do this kind of gradient? Here's what you get if you use my method.
This is a red to yellow gradient, but I can go from any to any color. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
