New Stuff From Beth W

Postby Chuck Engels » Mon Aug 10, 2009 12:57 pm

Hi All,
Beth has been very busy but she was kind enough to help me out with the snapshot effect tutorial that will be posted in the near future.

Here are a couple of other things that Beth has been working on :TU:

Beth wrote:another tutorial idea (which is kinda gleamed from both A TV commercial and Cheryl/Cinde/Jamal - one or all of them).

The effect is a layering of pictures in succession as in the above sample.

The basic premise is to create the snapshot with the white border and the flash in effect. At next shutter sound repeat the image on track above but move it's position, scale or rotation around on screen. End the original picture with a cross fade or fade out very quickly (4-5 frames). Keep repeating at every shutter click. I attached a screenshot of what the timeline should look like when finished.

Now you can play around with the style of each of the snapshots. Change color, posterize, solarize, cartoonize, etc. I did some color effects and cartoon in my example. Ended with a bit of the traditional snapshot movement.

Beth wrote:Another effect I've been using is the page roll pic (don't know if this is an effect in Elements). Basically the same snapshot effect

Keyframe Rotation and Scale (in my example:

keyframe at start has scale at 147 and rotation at -9,
keyframe 2 (frame frames in) scale is 78 and rotation is 0.

Page curl effect is added with the following keyframes:

angle of curl is -54.5 (constant)
curl amount keyframe at start is 80 - next keyframe (23 frames in) at 0.

Thanks for the great tips Beth :yh:
