I found another site with some great tutorials for effects like the Star Trek Transporter http://www.mediacollege.com/video/speci ... ansporter/
They are for Premiere Pro and Photoshop but most can be done in Premiere Elements easily, there are also some great articles about non linear editing and other things. This is really worth checking out.
