Scrubbing: Editing On the Timeline Rapidly

As always, my comments are directed to those members who, like me, are relatively new to the PSE and PRE workflow. I iknow I'm boring those who have been around for a while.

I'm editing a long movie and time is of the essence (read, my client wants her "music video" DVD ASAP).

There are 63 minutes of m2t clips on my Timeline, and I need to remove all instances where she is not looking directly at my camera.

Of the various options for moving along rapidly, this works best for me: I left-click the "head" of the CTI and drag it to the right along the Timeline (this is called "scrubbing"). I hold the CTI against the far-right border of the Timeline, which causes the Timeline to move briskly. Whenever she looks away, I stop and use the scissors to the bottom-right of the monitor to snip just before she starts to look away, then I drag the CTI to just before she is again looking at the camera, and I snip again there. Then I right-click on the errant clip, I choose Delete and Close Gap, and--Voila!--I'm ready to go on to the next "errant" clip.

Later, I will go through the entire movie to add transitions wherever merely cutting from one clip to the next looks awkward.
