Yeah, me too . It was good to see he understood the importance of feet shots, tho. Be yourself; everyone else is taken.

Re: Great tips for great videoDid someone mention feet shots?
Those were very good tips. I think you don't realize the firehosing until you edit. Then you realize it with jumpy all over the place video. I liked the tip on shooting highup or low shots to get an interesting prospective. Since I've been focusing on photography I've learned more about the rule of thirds and checking all 4 corners of the screen to get a good shot. Easier in photography than video because you can crop photos. aka Cheryl

Re: Great tips for great videoOne more good tip. Shoot with the sun at your back. If you're recording people, they may complain about looking directly into the sunlight, but tell them that the shots you'll get will be much better than if they were silhouetted against the sun.
Time of day and weather should also influence your shooting. Some types of shooting will be better on an overcast day, while others will be enhanced by the "golden hour." Sometimes you'll have to reschedule your outdoor shoots to wait for just the right conditions.
Re: Great tips for great video
I have had success recording with the sun perpendicular to the camera. It can create some nice shadows that make the video interesting. Sidd "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." ..... Ferris Bueller
Re: Great tips for great videoWhen I was given a video camera as a gift a long time ago I bought this book at a Barnes and Noble. As I knew nothing about video technique I found it very helpful. It's in comic book style, and I like that it tells you movie scenes where it was used. A big help in my action figure epics!
