FYI: $50/month is for the complete Creative Cloud. Single application subscriptions are $20/month. Adobe has a special offer through March 31 for a "photoshop photography program" that includes both Photoshop and Lightroom for $10/month for the first year then reverts to $20/month for subsequent years.

Bob, I have a question for you regarding Adobe's offer to sign up for Photoshop/Lightroom CC for $10 a month. You say that this is the price for one year and after that it will be $20.
In an earlier post back in Oct. you said $10 would be for as long as you keep your subscription alive.

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12451&p=106091&hilit=Creative+cloud#p106091

I signed up in Dec. I just looked at my email I received from Adobe and it also states the price is subject to change. Was this a different offer?

Sorry, Ron for highjacking your post.

There were two Photoshop/Lightroom offers last year. The one I wrote about that didn't bump up to $20/month after the first year was announced at Photoshop World in September by Winston Hendrickson (Adobe’s Vice President of Engineering for Digital Imaging). You needed to own a previous version of Photoshop (CS3 and up) to qualify. That offer expired December 31, 2013. The other offer was open to anyone and did not require owning a previous version, but the $10/month was for the initial year only and would bump up to $20/month. That offer came in (I think) November and was originally supposed to expire Dec 2nd, but was extended to March 31, 2014.

It sounds like you were signed up for the second offer instead of the first. I would try contacting Adobe customer support. Explain that there were two offers and they signed you up for the wrong offer and see if they will correct it. You may need to escalate to a supervisor or manager.

Good luck!

Thank you so much Bob.

Yes, I think that is exactly what happened. I was never asked to provide proof of a prior version of Photoshop. I have CS3 and CS5. I was not even aware of the two different offers. I wish I had made a copy of the offer.

I will call them and see how far I get. :gl:

Maybe this will help. Here's the page from Adobe's own blog describing the offer. http://blogs.adobe.com/creativelayer/introducing-the-photoshop-photography-program/

Interestingly enough, the buy link on that page now links to the other offer with the bump up after a year. I'll bet they replaced the first offer page with the second offer page back in November or December.

Bob, I talked to Adobe customer support today. After 3 transfers and talking to a supervisor I'm no wiser then before. He told me that at no point the offer ever said the price would not go up or that the Photoshop CC program is still going next year. There is no guaranty the price stays at $9.99 after my subscription renews, but they will inform me what the new price is going to be. [-(

I explained to him, that the offer I signed up for, did also not say the price will go up to $19.99, like the current offer does. Yeah, he understands my concern, but he can't promise that I won't pay more. :pull:

I guess, there is not much I can do about that, but I can't help it , that I feel misled.

I will pick up that fight again next December, when they tell me I have to pay more. ::C

Why not send this link from the Adobe blog to the service rep:

Thanks for the link, Cheryl. Bob had sent me the same link and I told the sales rep I would be happy to send it to him. He wasn't impressed and told me that there is no way that this proves the price would not go up.

I found a couple more links were this deal was advertised, one by Tom Hogarty. He is the Group Product Manager for Adobe Systems Professional Digital Imaging Department. In the following discussion on his blog, Jeffry Tranberry ( Adobe Product Manager for Digital Imaging and Chief Consumer Advocate ) answers questions from readers and says:

Jeffrey Tranberry says:
Hi Norman, $9.99 (and whatever the price translate to in Euros) is *the ongoing price* – It’s
not a first year only promo offer. We can’t say it won’t ever go up (e.g. inflation, etc)

And there was also this:

CS3-CS6 Customers: Photoshop Photography Program Extended through Feb. 28 (UPDATE)
Posted by Tom Hogarty on Dec 30, 2013

The offer for owners of current PS products is confusing, and hopefully not bait and switch. I received
an email offer to subscribe to PS/LR CC at $9.99/mo, with the price being good “for as long as you
continue your membership” The renewal information also says the renewal is at the current price. When I went enroll on the internet, the terms and conditions
do not reflect the offer, but talk about “then current price.”, no longer guaranteeing the $9.99 price.
Frustrating.

And Jeffry Tranberry's answer:

Jeffrey Tranberry says:
$9.99 is the price. Not a first year promo.

My experience with customer service in general has led me to believe that if you can keep asking to speak to a supervisor, you have a better chance of getting the problem solved. The higher the "level" of support, the better chance that they are not reading from a script and are more willing to actually work towards a solution.

Peru, I talked with a supervisor. He did not talk any different from the regular guy. I think these days customer service is obsolete. In the age of subscriptions and 2year agreements they only care about you during the trial period. After that you are on your own.
