Only way to create a PS action - with standard PS?

Postby Ted » Sat Sep 03, 2011 7:09 pm

Hello all,

Been quite a while. Hope all's well with you. :)

Recently, my computer crashed/died. I had to purchase a new computer, but thankfully, I had Carbonite backup software. I was able to restore many files. But for some reason, I can't find my Photoshop actions. :(

Is there ANY way I can create a Photoshop action without doing it through Photoshop? I do have CS2, but I'd hate to install it JUST to record an action I want to use with PSE 9.

Do you think Adobe will EVER consider allowing us to record actions with their Elements line? It's very frustrating to say the least.

I know I can "Process Multiple Files", but the watermark action I used was very handy and I want it back. :(

Anyway, if I have to re-install the full CS2 version, JUST to record an action, I will....but I think that it's a waste, seeing as I'll simply uninstall it after I do it.

Thanks so much for your help. :)

At this time, only the professional version of Photoshop allows you to record Actions. Sorry, Ted.

Darn... no worries, Steve.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. :)

Maybe I'll install it on my laptop and then create it there and import it into PSE.

Thanks again!
