User discussion concerning all that's Photoshop Elements (all versions).

I have PSE9 installed on my i7-950 Win'7 PC. I can open PSE9 "Edit" with no problem but when I select "Organize", I see the "Elements Organizer" button on the taskbar but the program will not "maximize" on the screen.
I can place the mouse cursor over the button and see an image as to what the program should look like, but when I click it to select it, it doesn't maximize on the monitor screen. I can't see it at all. I've also tried Alt-Tab combination to bring up the screen, no luck.
In Task Manager I see: PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe*32 at 161396k ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe*32 at 159,232k
...so I know the program is running but I can't actually see it and work with it.
I can launch PSE7 Organizer and it displays properly.
Any idea what is going on here?

Hi Ron, Actually no I don't have any idea what is happening. I can open PSE9 "Edit" with no problem but when I select "Organize", I see the "Elements Organizer" button on the taskbar but the program will not "maximize" on the screen.
a few questions -- maybe they will give a clue -- in this scenario, was the Organizer open before you used the Editor and if it was open, did you enter the Editor from the Organizer ? -- what is the resolution of your monitor ? were you using the max resolution of the monitor ?

Hi Barb,
I launched the Editor first, then launched Organizer from within Editor. This has proven successful occasionally. When I select "Organize" from the PSE9 intro screen, the Organizer never displays on screen.
Screen resolution is 1440x900.
FWIW, PSE7 Organizer launches and displays properly.

Have you tried to open the Organizer from the program folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer> PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
See if it is opening from there..

Wow! It opened when I double clicked that file. How did you know to try that? Cool! That is awesome, but why does it work from there but not from the PSE splash screen???

Ron - I don't know. I had a lot of problems with installing PSE9/PRE9. I installed/uninstalled at least 3 times. One of the problems was, that the program opened, but I could not see it or use it. I stumbled on the trick to open it from the program folder. I created a new shortcut to this folder and that worked. But you should not have to do that. I bought the boxed program bundle from Amazon as they were offering it at a great price right at the beginning after it came out. I was never able to install it from these discs, something always did not work. I ended up downloading the trial from the Adobe site and using my bundle registration # to unlock it. Since then it worked.
