Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.1 update

Postby rfjg » Wed Dec 08, 2010 11:23 am

Looks like there a patch out for PSE9

The Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 9.0.1 update will install a patch on top of Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. It provides a fix to the Spot Healing Brush when used in Content Aware mode. This update is ONLY applicable to Photoshop Elements 9 running on a Windows OS

I had a bad experience in the past on my XP machines as a result of running an Adobe update, so I haven't run the updates, including the one that you mention, that Adobe now wants to install on my Win7 machine. An additional reason is that Win7's System Restore recently failed me, and I'm still not sure the Backup that I made with Acronis TIH 2011 will actually work.

I'm using the Spot Healing Brush in Content Aware mode, and I haven't noticed a problem. What is the problem that the update solves?

PSE9 crashes on systems with single core CPU's that do not support the SSE3/SSE4 instruction set.

I don't have single core CPU, so it appears that I don't need the update.

There are also other updates for CS5 Bridge and PS CS5 (I can't remember the others) but I haven't had any problems with those either.

If I may ask, what is your general philosophy regarding running updates when everything is working well?
