Text on Photoshop Picture

Hi:
O.k. this is embarrassing. All I'm trying to do is put text on a Photoshop picture. I think a setting might be wrong because it's not working. I opened the photo, added a layer, used the text button and when I go to save the photo the words appear wavy and don't show up. I'm working on titles for my video work and I'm not great with Photoshop. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey Slush,

I use PSE 5. I click on the photo I want the text to appear on, go to full edit, click on text. It automatically creates a background layer for the photo and a new layer for the text. When I get the text like I want it, I do a save as and it is done.. I don't know if this helps as I am not good with PSE either. I am sure one of the experts will be along soon..

I appreciate your help. I have PE6 and I tried what you said. I can see the text when I type it but the moment I go out of the text box the text becomes wavy and you can't see it . I'll keep looking. Thanks again!!!

I figured it out - I had the wrong text button pressed . It must have been a LONG week. Thanks again for your help!
