Make text follow a defined path

Postby stanatou » Mon Nov 04, 2013 10:38 am

I saw a clip on you tube that showed how to get text to wrap around a circle using Photoshop. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure is was done with full blown Photoshop and not Photoshop Elements. I'm trying to do something similar but I want the text to follow an 'S curve' line from one corner of the page to the opposite corner. Can that be done in Photoshop Elements (V6)? I also have Microsoft Powerpoint and Publisher but I haven't been able to get it to work with either of those. What other apps (BluffTitler?) should I look at?

You can certainly do this in Photoshop Elements version 11 or 12, Stan.

Select the Text tool in Toolkit and, on the Tool Options menu, select the option to Type on Shape, Type on Path or Type on Type on Selection.

Probably Type on Path would work best for you. With this tool you just draw a freehand line in any shape you want and then type onto it. (The line will be invisible when you're done, but the text will follow its shape.)

I show you how to use all three tools in our Photoshop Elements/Premiere Elements 11 and 12 guides.

That's exactly what I need...sounds like it's time to retire my trusty old versions of elements and move on up.

Thanks,
