Extra BLurry and jittery with movement

Postby Maxine370 » Mon Mar 19, 2007 9:17 am

I'm having a little issue with a few of my pictures in a slideshow. I've managed to figure out that optimizing stills is NOT the way to go when adding a lot of movement to stills. I've already tested the flicker removal which helps a bit but I then get extra blurriness and still have residual flickering.

The three times I'm seeing this is when I (1) reduce, replicate and roll a still, (2) have a still zig-zag around the screen using motion keyframes

and (3) similar three stop movement.

Any suggestions on the best way to remove the flicker and maintain the clarity? Would creating the movements in a separate project and exporting under a different frame rate make a difference? How about posterize time in the effect (or the effect where you can choose the frame rate). Should I lower or increase the frame rate?

Thanks as always for any suggestions.

Hi Beth,
This isn't happening with all of your stills I assume, can you maybe post a sample in the gallery that is causing you this problem?

Is it just on the computer or also on the DVD that you notice this?

Sorry, more questions than answers to start with :)

Nope on the DVD too, actually only on the DVD and not as much while I'm working in the timeline.

Out of about 800 (yes 800 photos for a client), it is about 5 pictures and those with the particular movement I'm describing.

If I make a clip low enough to post it would be blurry anyway so it might not show the problem. I also hate to post since it is a client project (they might not want the public viewing of their family photos.) If you thought it would really help you I could post it privately.

I am just curious if there is anything similar between the 5 images. Lots of lines or bright colors, lots of white, very high resolution, something that would cause the flicker problem. What size are the images in question?

I understand not wanting to post them, I didn't know this was for a client.

I've experienced flicker with extra lines, bright colors etc. These are remedied by the flicker removal.

I'm going to experiment somewhat. I'll let you know if I come to any resolution.
