Safe Margins

Postby Spot » Tue Jan 15, 2008 3:25 pm

Hi all,
Just a quick one. If a 4:3 PAL DVD is played through a projector do the safe margins come in to play? I have made a movie with some text that is going off screen when shown on a 50cm CRT television, however am wondering if this will matter when it is viewed through a projector?
Cheers

Hi John,
Keeping the text inside the inner most safe margin is almost mandatory as far as I have found.
Will the projector be connected to a DVD player or to a computer? If it is a computer then no, the safe margins won't matter and the text should be fine.
Always good to test it out first though ;)

Hi Chuck, thanks for the reply.
It'll be viewed by a large audience on Sat night on the projector and at this stage will be run from a laptop. However I think I'll go back and fix it just to be sure!! :)
