Happy to be here!

Hi Everyone.

I found Muvipix a little over a week ago (right before the price increase :( ) Just couldn't get that Paypal verified in time. I've had a Lynda.com menbership for 2 years that I plan to let expire. It's been good but Muvipix is better! I've spent many hours lurking in the forums and have already found some really cool stuff! I worked on that page turn thing for two days.

I'm brand new to all of this digital stuff. Two years ago we started scanning old slides from when my husband was a child just to get them in a format we could share with his kids. That turned into scanning all of the old photos and eventually converting all of the old VHS to DVD. Some of those marching band movies were so terribly boring but we just couldn't toss them without having a copy. I fully intended to just give the DVDs to the kids as they were but now I've seen some stuff here that has me rethinking that in a huge way.

Last Dec I got a new PC with Vista and found Movie Maker totally by accident. In December I did my first slide show as a Christmas gift. In Feb I did another for my step-sons 40th birthday. It was an hour long but everyone was so surprised they sat and watched it til the bitter end.

I've been using the Photoshop CS3 for a few years but am new to PS7 & PE7. I feel like I've been run over by the "learning curve" truck more than once but I have about 5000 pictures that I want to do something with that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Waiting on Steve's book ~ looking forward to learning all I can. I see a new video camera in the very near future \:D/

Happy to be here,

Alejas
