Hello!
I’m a complete neophyte to videography. 30 years ago I did still photography. In the last couple of years I’ve started shooting again and reinvesting in equipment. Boy things have changed! I find myself facing quite the learning curve for my DSLR camera, video camera and computer editing software. I thought a friendly, generous with their information and experience; community would be just the ticket to help surmount those nagging questions that stand between me and what I’m pretty sure I could do if I could just get the hang of it. And lo and behold I found you! Nature has always been my first love, but I have grand-kids now and in my estimation they’re pretty cute, so I find myself in doors at graduations, weddings, baptisms and school plays shooting video and wishing I was doing a better job. I have tons of questions (some outrageously basic) and I’m hoping you have the time and inclination to answer them. I have purchased Steve’s books “The Muvipix.com Guide to Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10” and “The Muvipix.com Guide to DVD Architect Studio 5.0” and a third book by a Steve Stockman, “How to Shoot Video That Doesn't Suck”. I’m looking forward to their soon arrival and I’m excited to have found such an interesting spot to hone and renew the addiction…I mean hobby.

Hi Collene and welcome to Muvipix! Steve's books are great and also have seen a few articles by the other author Stockman.

Ask away any questions :)

:tx: for such a warm welcome. I will try to post my questions in the appropriate places. While I'm waiting for Steve's books to arive I'm reading all the back posts under the Vegas topic so I have a cursory knowledge of the vocabulary :-D My favorite old posts (not in the Vegas section) were the ones where you posted pictures of yourselves back in the day and then currently for that time. Those were great! Again thank you for the warm welcome.

Hi Collene, Always love to have another Minnesotan in the community :meet:
When in doubt just post your questions in the water cooler, one of the moderators can move it to the correct forum :)
This is a friendly place where you can get all the help you need without all of the attitude you find in many of the forums today :TU:
