I will have to look at some of those later Ed, thanks for the link. I didn't even know that existed until now, gives me some ideas for our video contest Beth, I'm really not sure what it is that I am looking for. Leather Jackets, Drive-In Theaters, Malt Shops, Hot Cars... The later 60's and early 70's is a lot easier with the Flower Power and Peace signs, stuff like that. There must be something from 1960 similar to those memorable symbols I was only 4 in 1960 so I don't remember much of anything except some TV shows and music. When we get to the later 60's I remember lots of stuff

Thanks Donna, that's pretty cool. Nothing with regard to entertainment however but still lots of good information. Still looking for background ideas, images of 1960 that will look good behind all of this information that we have found

Hi Chuck, Here's a flikr show of some products and illustrations from the 60's. http://www.flickr.com/photos/60585948@N ... /70116985/I've got a few ideas floating around in my head. Would be glad to mock up a couple things on the weekend. combining elements from the illustrations in the flikr show with some of the slang words and some faded or yellowed backgrounds I think you could get some groovy backgrouds.

Thanks Jamal, anything you can do would be great Just remember that Groovy wasn't around until about 1967 or so, this is for 1960 only There will be plenty of time for Groovy stuff when we get a little further into the decade later this year

Backgrounds that feature the color & home decor of 1960? Moved into a new home that year, house my dad built. It was decorated in minimalist type furniture, think they called it Scandinavian. Had white curtains in the LR with teal & black abstract design. Home decor: http://www.retro-housewife.com/1960-home-decor.htmlThe Continental & Cadillac had unique features, maybe a fin or headlamp? At the drive in, there were those short ads about going to the concession stand and the popcorn and soda are animated. A background of popular toys...the hula hoop, pogo stick, skates with a key.

I like the dial telephones, that might work in a background of some kind. Lots of great ideas, thanks Cheryl

Funny, My 95 year-old mother lives in the country and still uses a dial telephone. She gets so frustrated when recordings tell her to press 1 or 2.

I hadn't even seen a dial telephone in years until a few nights ago while watching a movie from the 70's on TV I did decide on a few backgrounds, if anyone has luck finding something like these please let me know; The back of a leather jacket, I will put facts and figures on the back of the jacket like a gang emblem of the 50's and 60's. A Jukebox - I would like to put the facts and figures where the song selections were located if anyone remembers what that looked like. Drive in Movie Screen - I will use a rolling title on the drive in screen to display the facts and figures there. Cover of a book from 1960 - I will show the popular books of the year on a Book Cover image Would like to do something with a malt shop or drive in - maybe a menu or menu board that could list facts about food. Still working out the rough edges but should have the first installation ready for our anniversary next month. The next ones should be much easier as I move along in time

chuck, when you get to the 70's here's a dance song you can include, "Do the Gator" by Root Boy Slim and the Sex Change Band. http://edmann.net/whatnot/Do_The_Gator.mp3. It got good airplay around DC, but for some reason didn't really catch on across the country.

Chuck, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color first showed up in 1961 - maybe you could use something similar to Tinkerbelle adding color splashes to the screen. Also, if you use Blufftitler, here's a Disney-style text effect: http://www.outerspace-software.com/gall ... icleID=424. It also requires Bixelangelo to create the text/eps layer, but he does have a free trial for that if you don't have it. Dick

Dick, you need to avoid copyright infringement. Disney, especially, protects it's copyrights and trademarks agressively. Just being close can get you in hot water.

Catchy tune, by the way, Ed! Much easier to dance to than the Hustle, for my money.

Good point, Bob. I get into enough hot water as it is, just by being me.

Very cool ideas Dick, thanks. I am already trying to figure out how to incorporate some of this into the 1961 graphics pack. We do need to be careful of copyrighted material as well, just like Bob says, but I'm sure we can come up with something cleaver
