Muvipix RockDoc Fund

Postby Chuck Engels » Tue Aug 05, 2008 2:58 pm

Thanks to the Muvipix members and our very own Rockdoc (Jennifer) we have $340 USD in our newly created Muvipix RockDoc Fund.

We will use this fund in whatever way is best for Muvipix and the Muvipix community :)
If you have a suggestion please leave it here. We will also keep a running balance here as well.
If you would like to make additional donations to the Muvipix RockDoc Fund just let Ron know.

Some of the funds will be used for prizes, some will be used to give Muvipix Subscriptions to people that couldn't otherwise afford it.
All other thoughts and ideas are welcome.

To date the fund has been used to provide additional prizes for the Commercial Contest and to help out some fellow Muvipixers in need.
Total fund dollars used to date is $150.00 and the fund balance is currently $190.00 USD

A huge thank you to all that have donated money to the fund.
Those that have been helped by it are extremely grateful and send their sincere thanks and appreciation to you all =D>

A suggestion would be to offer more prizes to the PrEl only contest section. It would be nice to see more than one prize for the category aimed at new users.

We are planning another contest for the first of the year, winners will probably be announced at our second anniversary celebration.
We will be giving away some additional prizes for that one along with our annual video contest as well :)

Just as a little hint; why would you ( or anyone) like to have a lifetime membership to Muvipix.com?

Another contest, sounds exciting! Enjoy seeing all of the entries. There were so many very, very good ones and glad to hear there will be more prizes to go around.

To answer the lifetime Membership question, well if I added up all of the tutorials, music, motion backgrounds, DVD templates that I downloaded I think you lost money on me :-D At times when I get stuck on how I want to create a title or slideshow, I go shopping in the products section. See something and then an idea pops up. Have used the motion backgrounds in a variety of ways. Steve has an article somewhere that tells how to use the backgrounds in different ways. Plus, with all of the free advice and training I have received here the small subscription fee has been well worth the peace of mind. Some of the new people here may not know this but less than 2 yrs ago I was completely computer illiterate. Didn't know how to make a new folder or rip a CD let alone edit video. Not that I am 1337 now (think that is how you say it). Am very appreciative of all of the help and thanks for everyone being so patient. My family especially is grateful since my first project before Muvipix was terrible. Now when they say they enjoy my work I think they are sincere. :-D
