A Important Note to Muvipix Subscribers

Postby Chuck Engels » Fri Jan 11, 2008 4:28 pm

The time is getting close to our anniversary.
During the next year PayPal will be deducting your annual subscription amount from the source you choose when you signed up.

Please be aware that if you do not cancel the auto payment, PayPal will be deducting the subscription fee from your account on your anniversary.

If you cancel the auto renewal and then decide to again purchase a subscription you will end up paying the full current rate, whatever that may be.
If you allow your auto renewal to remain active you will only have to pay the amount you originally paid last year. Even if the current rate goes to $79.95,
you will never pay more than you did the first time, that is our gift to you for your loyalty.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Ron or Myself.
Thank you all so very much for your support, we hope you get way more than every dollars worth :)

I don't remember exactly how I set it up. Are we AUTOMATICALLY set up for renewal (I definately want to be .. just want to make sure I don't let things lapse thinking I didn't have to do anything).

Hi Jayell,
Just go to your PayPal account and find the muvipix transaction.
It is set up for renewal by default but sometimes can get canceled for various reasons.
When you go to the transaction details in PayPal it will say if the auto renewal is active or not.

If it was canceled in error please let Ron know and he will make sure you keep your original rate.

There was another topic about this but I can't find it now. Ron can help if you have trouble.

Hopefully this will help, ( Ron please please correct anything that isn't accurate :) )

Find your transaction in your PayPal account (you may have to run a transaction history report like I did)

Then make sure the transaction is ACTIVE and it is a Subscription - See the Arrows

It will tell you the date the next deduction will take place and what the price is also.

Thanks for this information. I looked up the records and my account is active. I did a printout to remind me that I will be receiving a charge next September.

Got it. Sorry, I've only used Paypal a couple times and wasn't even aware I could go back and look at my transactions  I'm active, with the renewal date shown. Thanks for the hand-holding, Chuck :)

I tried to use the smileys, but they're gone. Guess I better go back and see what I did.

Sorry Jayell, I keep forgetting that Ron made some changes to the Announcements forum.
You can't use the smilies here only admin and moderators can, but you will see them in the other forums like always.

Just for the record, although I am a loyal subscriber, I would prefer just to get a bill email each year as I did this year, rather than be on a permanent subscription. There are reasons for this in our crazy identity-theft world. I did not see that option.

This is currently not an option. That email that you received was a courtesy to current members where their subscription was canceled without their knowledge (you were an exception, Bob). We can't send hundreds of emails on every member anniversary, it just wouldn't be practical, especially with the advent of spam. There are times when we send emails and they're not receiving them because of email filters and there's absolutely nothing we can do about contacting them when that happens.

If a member doesn't want a subscription to renew automatically, they can simply cancel the subscription at any time during the year, then manually renew when that anniversary arrives (consequently at the current rate in which case you won't receive the original lifetime subscription rate - the obvious advantage of letting it renew auto). And this will have to be managed individually with the member.

Additionally, after this batch of email reminders (only doing it for a few more whose subscription was canceled), we will no longer be sending reminder emails, it's laborious and a logistical burden. When a subscription is canceled, the member should get an email anyway, and if the anniversary lapses, they'll have to renew at the current rate vice the initial, discounted rate.
Regards,
-Ron
