Postby Ron » Mon Sep 24, 2007 5:19 am

We have added some new stuff to the Members Area (ensure you're logged in) with regard to PE Version 4.0 release. A tutorial that will give you a quick overview (FREE in our Complimentary section) and a 3 part series that goes into more detail about some of the new features (also available for individual purchase in our Products section)

There's also an article in our Articles section that explains some of the new features.

There's a quick overview of Photoshop Elements 6 in our Complimentary section as well.

And, yes, that's me telling "My Story" in the promotional video Adobe made to promote Premiere Elements 4!

Hehehe... I missed the "View my story" first time I went to the link, thanks for pointing it out. Very, very good... really sums up what it is all about. :-D

Steve, You really hit the nail on the head. Great story but.......did I see you reading from a cue card in one portion??????

No worries. It looks like PE4 will be a winner. Sounds like a great impetus to have another video contest.

Cue cards?! I wish!

Actually, they sat me on a set and asked a few leading questions -- but mostly they just let me ramble on for an hour and they cut and pasted it into something that made sense.

Maybe that "reading cue cards" look in my eyes was just me nervously struggling to think of the next thing to say. You try sitting along with huge lights shining in your eyes, knowing there are a dozen people and a camcorder out there in the dark somewhere, waiting for you to say something profound! :???:

Well I liked it and I think it will be well received. =D>

I guess it reinforces the idea that it is much easier to be behind the camera.

Looks like some good stuff there. Would have liked to have seen AVCHD editing but at least they have added some of the feature requests this time around. Seems they are listening... Guess that is my Christmas present sorted. :santa:

Version 4 is suppose to have AVCHD support, although I don't know of any Beta testers that actually could test the format.
The developers say it works and is in the list of supported formats for version 4.

I have seen conflicting reports as to whether AVCHD is supported or not. I do know that the JVC Everio MOD files are now suppose to be supported for sure.
Paul, do you have a small file you could send me to test with? I could give you a FTP site to upload it to if that would be easier.

Hey Steve. Did they blue screen you when they filmed and then replace the background with something within PE4?

OK Chuck, I watched all the new tutorials........and I wasn't planning on doing it.....but I think I am almost 100% convinced to make the switch. Course, it will be fun to learn with everyone! That is going to be a great advantage of getting the program when it comes out! I can't wait to see what other fun and exciting things this software can do! :-D

Chuck, Great tutorials. It's nice to see the layout in action before purchasing.

I didn't see it jump out at me, so I'll ask... Are the panels floating? Can we detach the monitor panel? It didn't look like it, although that would be a big take away.

Having been on PE forum and this one for almost 3 years now I can say that just about everything in Steve's list (included below) of features has been asked for, BUT... I don't ever recall anyone asking that the video and audio track be paired! I'm sure I will get used to it, but I don't recall it ever being a request.

- Richer Interface (with return of Save, Undo and Redo buttons!)
- Tabbed, Integrated Tasks Panel for quick access to effects and media
- Stabilizer to Correct Shaky Video
- Scene Detect with HDV Capture
- Split Already Captured Media Based on Time or Content

- Ability to Preset Projects to Reverse Field Order

- Find Beats Feature so pacing slideshows to music
- Share Panel (for sharing to YouTube and similar sites)
- New DVD Menu Templates (with drop zones for photos)
- Ability to Burn BluRay DVDs

I'll be interested on how the organizer is integrated with PSE6 as well. I like the tagging feature, but I like to segment my videos into a separate catalog from my stills. This may render my archiving article obsolete! I'll have to come up with version 2.
