Gradient wipe transition

I found that you can use images of clouds and skies to create a neat wipe effect. Example posted in the Gallery. http://www.muvipix.com/cpg/displayi ... p?pos=-769

I'm only just now discovering the joys of the gradient wipe.

Have you been following the discussion on the Adobe forum describing how to use the gradient wipe to create an effect like text being hand-written across the screen?

The first and second wipes used the "clouds1" image (posted in my demos album), duration set to 2 seconds, and reversed for the second wipe. The third and fourth wipes used the "clouds4" image (yes, I forgot to convert it to grayscale, but PE3 doesn't seem to mind full-color images as gradient wipes) and cut in between is a segment of the "Blowout.avi" from the "special_effects.zip" from muvipix. Using clouds gives a softer and less geometreic effect.
