2015 Grisetti Family Video

As long-time Muvipixers know, every year I make a big movie project out of assembling the best of our family videos and telling the story of our year. This year, because of the loss of my mother, the video was an especially personal, bittersweet project.

Nonetheless, I thought you might enjoy the opening chapter. I'm really very proud of the way I was able to balance the good news with the bad.

Thanks so much, guys. You have no idea how much all of these old videos have come to mean to my family as we lose our older members. I'm now the go-to guy for creating tribute videos.

Ooops ... Steve I am sorry for your loss. I was too engrossed in your opus.

I have to say that for the most part the people you record tend to ignore the camera. I really like that effect. As a viewer I feel like I am in the room to watching and listening to your narration and not watching everyone just ham it up. I agree with your thoughts regarding the archive. It is nice to have those time capsules. As always Well done. I also liked your second movie you posted. Makes me want to order the complete Grisetti DVD from Amazon.

Thank you for sharing your 2015 through film for us. Your enthusiasm for life, love of family and friends clearly can be seen in your film work, and your talent in making these films skillfully hidden, but there to seen and marveled at by me. Watching your films here was once again for me enjoyable and most enlightening. I appreciate the time and effort you put into assembling this film, noting your filming style, your editing techniques, the lively and smoothly blended clips. This was a particularly challenging annual video for me. Mom's death cast such a shadow over it all, I wasn't sure if there was a way to honor that and still show how much fun we had this year. Then, one night, the week Mom died, I was coming home late from I think the 4th of July fireworks and, as I came in the back door, I remembered how she used to wait up for me in her chair in the living room and how she'd asked me all about what I did and who I saw. It reminded me how much Mom was always a part of our good times, even when she wasn't actually physically there.

Steve I can really relate to your sense of having your Mom there to share in your life moments. My Mom (who is still with us) was also very interested in what we did. But we had better be telling the same story because if she spotted any inconsistences there would be an additional conversation....
