2014-08 Muvipix 1 minute video showcase

Postby sidd finch » Sun Aug 17, 2014 8:27 am

I created this thread to post the videos from the 2014-08 video contest. This way you do not have to scroll through pages of pre-contest chatter. Please feel free to include any commentary regarding the video submissions on this thread.

Both are excellent! You two have already set a pretty high standard for us to reach!

I post the same comment as on Vimeo, my words are true .-) :

Great, Sidd, very rich!
Circles and cycles everywhere, things unseen (the seal in such perspective), fantastically fitting with the music.
I liked it very very much ! ... the wheels in the factory, the shots in the city, as you made the buildings vibrate ...

When a video leaves me wanting more I know that it's a good one. Had to go back and pause in several places because things flew by so quickly, but 60 seconds is a tight timeframe to work within. I liked it a lot! ::CLAP: And the ending was cute. The first time I watched it I actually pulled back a bit as the little guy came straight for my face. :-D Oh, and the music was spot-on!

Thank you for the kind words. My attempt was to juxtapose the fast paced life in Northern California while still showing that there are places where life slows down just a bit.

The factory wheels are really the huge drive wheels and the electric motors which move the cables used to propel the cable cars around San Francisco.

The music is a song called "Sixty-Five Thousand" by a group called Erasure.

Wow! So much beautiful work! I hesitate to post my humble entry. (I've been dealing with some family health issues, and haven't found the time to put what I wanted to into it.)

Okay, here's my entry. Though, if I get a chance to reshoot some of it, I may revise it later.
