Copying and pasting text without global editing?

Copying and pasting text without global editing?Okay, I'm sure this is fairly simple, but I'm editing a video with various people being interviewed. When the first person pops up, I put their name and a credential in the video under their clip. I am doing this via inserted text. So far, so good. I copied it and pasted it - in the same track - at the point when the next person shows up. Of course, I used copy and paste so the names and credentials would be in the exact same place for the exact same amount of time with the exact same font and font size. So, I use backspace and edit in the new name, but when I previewed the video, the first name was changed to the second name, meaning they are now both the same (I get this and understand it). I pasted with control V and they are both labeled Title 02. I'm assuming there is something simple I'm not doing in order to separate the titles so I can edit each one individually, as opposed to globally. Thanks.
Re: Copying and pasting text without global editing?...and just for reference, I'm trying to do exactly what the person is doing in the first half of this video in Pro, but the Alt and drag doesn't work in Elements.

Re: Copying and pasting text without global editing? If you copy or copy and paste a title, you create a clone of the title. Changes in one clone will change all of the clones of that title.
Instead, right-click on the clip in Project Assets and select Duplicate. A duplicate will have the same characteristics but will be editable separately. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
