Video Card Support QuestionWith PrEl 2021 for the first time making use of video card resources and memory I see that Adobe has a list of cards that have been tested with it. Should we expect that that feature of PrEl will work with any quality card with enough memory, or do we really need to stick to that list?

Re: Video Card Support QuestionDave I had the same issue in PPro CS6. My video card was not on the list. I found video that show how to add the name of the card to the list in premiere so it will work. I am not sure where Pre Elements file is but the method should be the same..

Re: Video Card Support QuestionAh, yes. Now that you mention this I do remember reading about it at some time, but since I don't use Premiere Pro I didn't store it in my "important to know" memory cells. I hope Elements has a similar ability. Thanks Sidd!

Re: Video Card Support QuestionIf not, test drive it anyway with the free trial download of the program. it might work anyway.

Re: Video Card Support Question
Silly question, but how would I know that it's working if I don't have anything to compare to? Be yourself; everyone else is taken.

Re: Video Card Support QuestionThanks Chuck. I wonder if this will also apply to Pr Elements. I think I had read at one time that the coding for PrEl was getting further and further away from Pro. Be yourself; everyone else is taken.

Re: Video Card Support QuestionI would surely think they used the same process but either way the activity during rendering should show on the GPU if it is being used.

Re: Video Card Support QuestionDave when you open the program and look under the project setting --> General you will see if the graphics card is enabled. So it will either be highlighted or if not working greyed out.
The biggest difference is that on the timeline almost all clips will remain "yellow" even if you add effects or change the time. Stops a lot of having to render all the time. Sidd "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." ..... Ferris Bueller
Re: Video Card Support QuestionThanks guys. Still putting together a new computer system. This will be helpful.
