I just used HDV Split for the first time to capture 1080i from my Sony HDR-HC9. The capture was fine, but the preview while capturing did not have any audio while previewing. Is this normal? If so, is there another capture program which will show both a video and audio preview?

No, that's not normal Peru. You should get audio, or at least I do from my HV40. Is your audio 5.1 surround sound or something out of the ordinary?

I don't think it's surround sound, but I'll check the camera output settings, thanks.

Next suggestions would be to make sure your audio is not muted in the audio control panel, re-install HDVSplit, check for a audio driver update ...

Tried all that. Still the same. Audio is 16 bit. All of the captures are fine -- audio is fine in the capture. It just seems to be a preview problem. I also tried changing the device control from Sony to Standard, but the results were the same. Maybe just a bug with regard to capturing from this model camera?

Chuck do you get audio from HDVSplit or are you hearing it from your camcorder when you capture?
