Can someone confirm if version 8 of Premiere Elements will burn a dual-layer BluRay disc if you've got a dual-layer burner and disc?
What about version 7?
Thanks!

Does Premiere Elements burn dual-layer BluRay?Can someone confirm if version 8 of Premiere Elements will burn a dual-layer BluRay disc if you've got a dual-layer burner and disc?
What about version 7? Thanks! HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Does Premiere Elements burn dual-layer BluRay?I do know that there is no mention of dual layer blu-ray in the Premiere Elements documentation at all, only single layer BD-R and BD-RE
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Does Premiere Elements burn dual-layer BluRay?When I use Phantom Burner to emulate a BD-R DL disc, Premiere Elements doesn't complain when I select Blu-ray in Share.
The video on the timeline would take up over 40 GB on the Blu-ray disc. When I change Phantom Burner to emulate just a BD-R, Premiere Elements says that there is insufficient space. Whether Premiere Elements would successfully burn a real BR-R DL disc, I don't know.
Re: Does Premiere Elements burn dual-layer BluRay?
On the subject of burning BD-DL discs (so not a thread hijack ) I haven't had cause to buy any BD-DL discs so I can't comment, Steve, but I would also like to know if anyone has burned a BD-DL using ImgBurn. AMD Ryzen 3900x 12C/24T, ASUS x570 mobo, Arctic Liquid Freezer ll 280, Win11 64 bit, 64GB RAM, Radeon RX 570 graphics, Samsung 500GB NVMe 980 PRO (C:), Samsung 970 Evo SSD (D:), Dell U2717D Monitor, Synology DS412+ 8TB NAS, Adobe CS6.
Re: Does Premiere Elements burn dual-layer BluRay?RJ, can you elaborate on Phantom Burner...
Can one assume that this is a piece of software that emulates a virtual BD Burner that PE would recognize, or an animal of a different color... (Steve, thanx for posting the original question, I thought it would be easy to answer, but it looks like with the low activity of BD with the masses, no one has posted a definitive answer yet on PE and BD-DL...) Thanx... Intel i7Core Quad (i7-940) @ 2.93 Ghz, 12gig Mem 1066 MHz , 1gig Nvidia GeForce, 1TB HDD with Raid 0 (2x500), 3TB Storage

Re: Does Premiere Elements burn dual-layer BluRay?
Haven't tried it yet myself Steve, but here is a thread I stumbled across this morning here on MuviPix from last August where someone has apparently tried it in PE7.. viewtopic.php?f=57&t=5980 Azus Sabertooth X58 1366 MB, 12GB DDR3 1600 RAM, Intel i7 960 CPU, Nividia GTX 470 Graphics, Intel 120GB SSD Primary Drive, 2- 10,000 RPM 300GB Velicoraptors in RAID 0, Seagate 500GB internal, 750W PSU, Win 7 Pro, BDH 20 burner, Canon HF20 HD camera.
Re: Does Premiere Elements burn dual-layer BluRay?
It's a piece of software that emulates a BD or CD or DVD burner that PE recognizes. Here are some links about Phantom Burner and Phantom Drive viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3896 viewtopic.php?f=57&t=4309
