DV AVI from HDV question

Postby Ron Hunter » Mon Nov 02, 2009 9:07 pm

I exported a 6 minute HDV project to tape and it played fine. I exported that Timeline as a DV AVI file tonight as a test. I played the DV AVI in Windows Media Player and the images on the screen seemed to "ghost" as they moved around.

I then created a new PRE7 project, imported the DV AVI file and inserted it on the Timeline. I rendered and played the Timeline, and the video was a fraction of the frame. It was MUCH smaller than the "title safe" margins in the Monitor.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

What project settings did you use? If you are using DV-AVI footage then you need to use a standard definition project setting (widescreen if the footage is widescreen). My guess is that you imported the footage into a HDV project.
1920 x 1080 viewable area and you are putting a 720 x 480 clip into it, much smaller ;)
