Background
I shoot the stills for my PSE4.0 slide shows at 2288x1520 (3:2=35mm format) as JPEGs. I convert the JPEGs to PSD format before creating my shows. I output the roughly 5-minute shows from PSE4.0 as WMV720p, then I convert them, one by one, to m2t (1440x1080i) with TMPGEnc, and when I import them into PE4 for the purpose of burning a Blu-ray DVD, no further rendering is required. I output the m2t file from PE4 to Blu-ray disk using the preset MPEG2 1080i NTSC Dolby. Although my HD Timeline is typically about 1-hour long, it always consists of roughly 10 individual m2t files rather than a single hour-long file, and I've never before had a problem burning a 1-hour Blu-ray disk using this technique.
But now, out of the blue and despite having made NO CHANGE to my computer with the exception of taking it offline, here is what is happeneing: PE4 "sees" my Blu-ray burner without issue and proceeds to encode the m2t Timeline as in the past, however, just after completing the encoding process then giving me the message "Burning Disk 1 of 1," I immediately get a message stating "fatal error" and the burn comes to a halt.
Could this problem be related to the fact that the computer that I use exclusively for videos is no longer online, or is another explanation more likely?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Could it be the infamous small (one or two frames) gap in the video timeline?

There's a virtual drive you can use to burn blu-ray to an iso file from about any application including Premiere Elements. This could help you determine if it is your burner or the arrangment on the timeline that is causing the problems. It's fully functional during trial period, but only $19.95 to buy. So instead of selecting your actual blu-ray drive for the burner when in Premiere Elements, you choose Phantom Drive. See my post here about Phantom Drive: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3896&start=0

Hi John, I don't think so for the following reasons: 1) The 1-hour Timeline plays back perfectly from start to finish; and 2) I have no problem burning a SD DVD from that same Timeline using the same LG Blu-ray/SD DVD burner.

I'll try that this weekend. Once I've created the ISO file, I'll try both ImgBurn and the Cyberlink software that came with my burner and compare the resulting Blu-ray DVDS, then I'll give you some follow-up. Thanks for the reply
