Steve, With the MOV files extension, it said FileExtension_Invalid:dv dif
So I changed it back to DV and here is the result: General Complete name : /Users/Desktop/clip2001 copy.DV Format : DV Commercial name : DVCPRO File size : 291 MiB Duration : 1mn 24s Overall bit rate mode : Constant Overall bit rate : 28.8 Mbps Recorded date : 2001-11-14 16:08:07.000

Unfortunately, I don't see a thing in this report that would indicate problems with this file. It's a perfect DV file, and it should work flawlessly in Premiere Elements. BTW, do you have Quicktime 7 installed? If not, it might be worth installing it to see if it makes any difference -- since your file may have Quicktime elements in it. https://support.apple.com/kb/DL762?view ... cale=en_USOnce you install Quicktime 7, you can browse into your Program Files (x86)/Quicktime folder and change QuicktimePlayer.exe to QuicktimePlayer.old -- just so Quicktime Player's vulnerabilities won't be exposed. It's the other components you need.

Steve, shows how many levels of complexity this stuff can have. I am currently running Quick time Version 10.4 on my MacBook. I am still able to make some adjustments to the lighting, temperature, tint, etc. But I've seen what the Smart Fix can do and these old videos need all of the help I can give them. Thanks for reviewing my issue. Craig

Oh, you're on a Mac! That's pretty relevant!
May I suggest that you add your computer's technical specs as a signature (under User Control Panel, at the top of this forum). That way, whenever you have a question, we won't have to ask what your computer's configuration is or make mistakes in assumption.

Technical specs added. Sorry for the omission as it is very important.

Something you might consider is simply convertng your .dv files to .avi using a converter program. One of my favorites is "Handbrake". I've been able to convert just about everything with it, and the quality is outstanding. However, I've never had to convert a .dv file before. Might be worth a shot. https://handbrake.fr/
