HAZE REMOVAL FILTER IN PRE 2018

Postby George Tyndall » Fri Jan 12, 2018 3:27 pm

Just yesterday, as I was reading the reviews of Lightroom 6 on Amazon, I saw multiple complaints that, to get this "essential" filter, one must instead purchase the subscription version of Lightroom.

Today, on p.158 of Steve's book, I see that this filter is included in PRE 2018, which does not require a subscription.

Nice!

Haze removal is a feature of both Premiere Elements (for videos) and Photoshop Elements (for photos).

I must say that I continue to be amazed by the functionality that Adobe has provided us for such a reasonable cost -- and without demanding a subscription!

Your expository books, in terms of value added, are even more amazing.

I could choose any of the chapters in the PRE book (the only one I've read so far) as an example, but let's go with Chapter 15 on keyframing. As I perused those 17 pages, complete with images and blue arrows pointing to each button within those images, it occurred to me that this one chapter alone must have taken you an absolute minimum of ten working days to make perfect.

Adobe gives us the power to create, but like a catalyst that facilitates a chemical reaction, your books unleash that power.

George,

I'll have to try out that filter. I've recently purchased Pre EL 2018 so I can edit out the garbage in 4K, 60 fps files and save at my original quality level before editing and saving at 30 fps in Pre Pro CS6, in case I ever want to re -edit the same footage.

You mentioned that you would prefer to edit in PreEL 2018 at 60... well, you can. In case you did not see this before, Here:

Hi Paz,

Thanks for sharing that.

Now that I've discovered how well the PRE 2018 Time Remapping feature works, which means I can create either Slo-Mo or Fast-Mo from a 1080p 30 timeline, I'm happy -- make that ecstatic.

But thanks again for taking the time to create your post.
