I have a few hundred clips of a local area and I would like to categorise them into specific areas before editing the project.
Any suggestions on the best way to do this - rename at source or within PRE?
How do 'pros' tackle this?
Regards
John

Re: How best to group clips?I am sure everyone has a different methodology and there are different solutions for the same task.
I like to organize in the file structure of the clips by date. Then within the date file I have subcategories of the events or the specifics I am looking to turn into video. When I import the clips for a project I create a date driven project and name the project. I like to keep multiple project files that cover the different aspects of the video I am trying to generate. For me the date driven approach really helps me to remember what clips I am looking for. But again I am sure others will have different methods. Sidd "Life moves pretty fast. Re: How best to group clips? This is the kind of thing the Elements Organizer is designed for. In the Organizer, you can create Albums can manage your photos and videos based on date, subject, etc.
Then, back in Premiere Elements, when you select the option to Add Media from the Organizer, you can browse your media based on those Albums. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
