Neat Video plug-in

Postby jackfalbey » Thu Aug 30, 2007 1:48 am

Has anyone used the Neat Video plug-in (http://www.neatvideo.com)? I downloaded the demo version but when I drop the "reduce noise" effect on a standard NTSC 720x480 clip in the timeline and then open the Neat Video plug-in window, the clip I selected is shown in a stretched, flattened, low-res version which completely eliminates the possibility of using the plug-in to achieve its intended effect. I'd like to know if anyone else has used this plug-in effectively...

Yes I use the plugin. I get the same thing from time to time. I just close the Neat Viideo window, move the CTI to another spot on the video and then reopen the Neat Video window.

I have the Neat Video plug-in. I find it especially useful for de-noising any low light recordings taken with my CMOS based HVR-A1. I haven't experienced that particular issue yet but if I do now I know how to overcome it! :-D

Hi Twosheds, they released an update recently and this new version seems to have the problem. Never saw it with the older version.

Thanks Paul. Didn't know that there was a new version which explains why I haven't had the problem.

I also have the plug-in and have overcome the preview problem. The real trick is finding a frame with a sample area of sufficient size.

I think the preview is showing just one of the fields if the video is interlaced.
