Xero Graphics Plugins

Postby Helen » Wed Jul 04, 2007 8:44 pm

I was wondering do these plugins work with Photoshop Elements and with Premiere Elements.
I know they are Photoshop plugins and if I edit my photos with them will I be able to import my editted photos into Premiere Elements. Another question, will I be able to use them on my video in PE or only on still images?

Here is the link to the plugin http://www.xero-graphics.co.uk

Thanks

Don't expect them to work in Premiere Elements. Where Photoshop plugins are used in Premiere, they deal with such things as import of file formats, not manipulation of images.

There is a good chance they will work in Photoshop Elements. Not every Photoshop plugin will work in Photoshop Elements. Plugins that require features that are not in Elements will obviously not work and there are API version differences. These plugins don't appear to be very sophisticated and are intended for other hosting applications as well, so they are undoubtedly using a subset of an old API. That increases the odds that they will work.

I downloaded one set of those filters, unzipped to a folder, and drag and dropped the folder inside the en_US Plug-in folder (Premiere Elements 3.0.2). They show up in the effects panel under Xero. They do something when you apply them to clips on the timeline, but have just started looking at them.

So close, yet so far. You get to see a preview of what the effect is like, but when you click OK, the image in the monitor turns black. Maybe someone with a GPU accelerated graphics card will have better luck.

Thanks for looking guys. I haven't had a chance myself to have a proper look, but I intend to do so in the next week.
Thanks again

I know that at least one of them works in Photoshop CS2.

I have tried most of them in Photoshop Elements 4.0 and they all seem to work.

In Premiere Elements they appear in the Effects section under Xero, and you can see a preview, but my monitor goes black as well when you try to play them after applying them.

I guess I'll just use them in Photoshop if I need them.
Thanks
